Equation explorer

Pick an equation, set its inputs in SI units, and sweep one input to see how the result moves. The calculation runs in your browser with the same TypeScript evaluators that the test suite checks against the sympy vectors (1e-9 relative), so the numbers here match the theory pages.

The “Try it” links on the learning pages open this explorer with an example’s inputs filled in. Every view is stored in the URL hash, so a bookmark or a shared link reproduces it exactly.

The explorer evaluates one formula at a time and does not check whether its assumptions hold (for example, a CCM ratio at a DCM operating point). Each equation’s assumptions are listed under it on its home page. The simulator finds the mode from the circuit itself, and the converter designer combines the formulas of a topology and checks the operating mode over an input range.

The explorer opened from the Try it link of the CCM and DCM page: the buck's DCM conversion ratio with its two inputs and its value, and a sweep of K on a logarithmic axis.

The numbers in the examples, presets and exercises on this site are synthetic: round teaching values, not data from any real design.
